Alastair, co-founder and chocolate maker, began this journey alongside his partner Friederike when they traveled the UK music festival scene with their mobile geodome chocolaterie. When he’s not creating exquisite chocolates in the factory, Alastair can be found exploring the great outdoors—freediving, climbing mountains, or riding his fat bike along the stunning East Lothian coastline. His passion for rewilding Scotland and conserving rainforests is deeply intertwined with his love for family and a commitment to well-being.
Friederike, co-founder and chocolatier, brings a creative flair to Chocolate Tree. Originally from Lübeck, Germany, she moved to Edinburgh to study mathematics and soon found her calling in chocolate-making. With a keen eye for design, Friederike oversees all packaging and recipe development. In her spare time, she immerses herself in pottery and knitting, all while nurturing her deep love for Scotland and its future.
